Flexible, economically and environmentally sustainable Art Gallery fit-out for Matt’s Gallery, Nine Elms, London. Two large galleries will provide dedicated and adaptable exhibition space. New artist studios at mezzanine level will help the gallery continue to nurture artists at key moments in their development. The project will provide access for the first time to the extensive Matt’s Gallery archive, which spans the 40 years of the gallery’s existence. The archive will be housed within two-storey racking inside the entrance space.
Over the next 2 years Matt’s Gallery will raise public and private funds to realise the project in a series of phased developments. Phase 1 will provide dedicated gallery spaces, new studios, gallery offices, and a dedicated space for talks, screenings and performances. Arts Council England have awarded £200K of capital funding to the project. You can support Matt’s Gallery by visiting their website.
