International project and cost management consultancy Stature London has been appointed as client representative and cost managers on London’s 15 Old Bailey, set to become a high-end hotel.
The consultancy will oversee the £34.3m transformation of the Old Bailey building into the Hyde Paradox Hotel London City. The hotel will comprise 110 rooms, a Levantine restaurant, a Japanese bar, and a state-of-the-art gym.
Due to reopen as a hotel in 2023, 15 Old Bailey was originally built as a hotel in 1874 by architect Evans Cronk but was most recently being used as office space. 15 Old Bailey is being developed as part of a joint venture between Boscalt Hospitality, and a property business founded by Alex Shamash.
Alex Shamash said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure brining this dream to reality. We look forward to working with Stature London to delivering a unique hotel to captivate the traveller looking for a holistic lifestyle experience. We can’t wait to establish the Hyde Paradox hotel as a must-stay hotel for both visitors and locals, thanks to our unrivalled food and beverage outlets, impressive rooms, and eccentric décor by our award-winning design team.”
Adam Lynch, director and founder of Stature London explained: “This is a large-scale redevelopment on a key site in London. It’s a spectacular Victorian building with an ornate façade and great history. It’s thought to have been the first hotel to have electricity when it was built.
“We have good credentials of working with the hotel and hospitality sector but there is no doubt that this is among our most prestigious projects to date. It’s also important for Hyde who intend to roll-out further sites across the UK in the coming years”
Stature London acted as the cost management consultant on the award-winning Mandrake Hotel – a conversion of redundant office buildings to an independent, 34-room boutique hotel and restaurant YOPO in London’s Fitzrovia. The consultancy is currently working with the new Relais Retreats brand to redevelop Bexhill’s Cooden Beach Hotel, a landmark building on the south coast.
The professional team working on the Hyde Paradox project include: project manager Pillar; architect and interior designer, Dexter Moren Associates; mechanical and electrical service engineer, Hoare Lea; and structural engineer Elliot Wood.
Adam Lynch added: “We’re undergoing an exciting period of growth and development at Stature London. With our strong client base and wide range of sector experience we’re enjoying consistent year-on-year growth.”
Stature London, based in Wilton Road, near Victoria Station, is currently undertaking an expansion programme. The company managed to maintain steady growth throughout the pandemic and is well on target to hitting annual revenues of more than £3m with a team of around 30 people by early 2023.
Since being founded in 2016, Stature London has established a strong foothold in the commercial, office-space sector undertaking prestigious re-fits and refurbishments. Other work includes residential, healthcare, hotels, and co-living projects.
Adam Lynch added: “We will also be building on the success of European projects we have successfully delivered in France, Luxembourg and Romania. We’re aiming to secure more projects in locations where our experience and understanding allows.”
